Shock?

I have always wanted to write down this little story to my blog for a long time, but unfortunately it has taken a long time until now.

It happened in a summer afternoon when I was doing my grocery shopping at a supermarket. A naughty child popped around me and kept grabbing stuff from the shelf and put them into the trolley his mom pushed right behind him. I thought she was going to tell him off as his behaviour was quite annoying. But to my surprise, his mom said “thank you” to the little boy and at the same time explained the reason they do not need the stuff is because they have stocks at home. The mother’s reaction shows the adult’s ‘respect’, to the children. I guess this hightlights the disparity between Western and Eastern cultures. Definitely I can learn a lesson from it.
